Noob Question - Guild Wars Forums

Hi All,

I am fairly new to Guild Wars and haven't learned a lot about it yet, but I am in the Eye of the North expansion and I have one question. Why is Domination magic 0 in the North? Maybe I missed something when we went to the North, but I don't get why my domination magic is set to 0 ... I thought at first maybe it was because I wasn't level 20 yet, but now that I am it is still at 0. No inherent effect means what?

no inherent effect means there isnt another benefit besides buffing up the attribute's skills, unlike fast casting which speeds up ur casting even if u dont equip any of it skills.

GW's attribute system allows you to modify ur attribute points at anytime while in an outpost. To do so remove points from an attribute that you arent using by pressing the down arrow and then increase domination by pressing the up arrow

I'm not exactly sure of this as i don't own eotn, but i think that your attributes are set to what skills you bring if you're not lvl 20. Correct me if I'm wrong on this

Eye of The North automatically assigns attributes if you are not level 20.
12 for the attribute of the weapon you are wielding.
Then 9 for up to 3 other attrbute of the skills you are using.

To get points into domination magic, wield a domination magic weapon, or place a domination magic skill on your skillbar. If you have a domination magic skill but still don't have any attribute points put in, then try removing skills from other attributes.

Inherent effects are granted my a professions primary attribute, such as Energy Storage gives elementalists 3 energy for each point. Or divine favour giving 3.2 bonus healing points for each point. These effects require no skills, simply an attribute point investment.

which would make since if he were still under level 20, but he said he is now level 20 and its the same. but yes try to take attributes away from one and put on dominations. next to the attribute ammounts you will see a up and down arrow, go down on the one with attribute points and add to dom. goodluck mate and if you need any help in game my toon is > drunk n angry.

Thanks for all your suggestions and replies. For whatever reason, today, when I loaded up it was back to level 11 where I had it. I had logged in two other times once reaching level 20 and the domination magic was still 0. Oh well, at least it is working now. Thanks again all.
